Do you have a favourite book that you would like transformed into an original work?

I occasionally accept commissions based on books that hold particular meaning for collectors. Each piece begins with a page from the chosen text and is developed through hand-cut interventions, creating an original work that exists nowhere else.

What will I receive?

You will receive a unique, signed original artwork created from your chosen book. Each piece is one of one and will never be repeated. Depending on the nature of the work, finished pieces may range from intimate single-page works to larger compositions. Sizes and presentation are discussed individually.

Framing

Works can be supplied framed and ready to hang. I generally favour simple box frames that allow the paper and its shadows to breathe, but framing options can be tailored to the piece and your preferences.

The Process

All I need to begin is the title of the book. From there, I work intuitively with the text, allowing the final image to emerge through cutting, subtraction and arrangement.

Part of the experience is trust. You will not see the work in progress. The finished piece will be revealed only when it is complete.

An Original Work

Every commission is an original artwork made specifically for one collector. While ideas and themes may continue to evolve within my wider practice, no two works are ever identical. The piece you receive will be uniquely your own.
