Arctic Silence was created for Volume I of The Novel Print Archive.

Created from the opening page of Frankenstein, the work reduces the page almost to silence. Layers of tracing paper obscure the title and Milton epigraph beneath, while a single torn divide exposes one word from Paradise Lost: “Lost.”

The work draws on the novel’s frozen landscape, isolation and the idea of creation followed by abandonment — the text still present, but almost beyond reach.

Originally released as the eleventh monthly edition of the Archive, this past edition is now available individually.
